He obtained his Master's Degree in Hospital and Health Services Administration from the University of Puerto Rico. He completed his residency at the Municipal Hospital of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and at the Hospital de las Damas de Ponce, Puerto Rico. He is a founding member of CETRERSA.
