What causes kidney disease?
Some of the factors that can increase the risk of chronic kidney disease are diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, smoking and obesity. Depending on the underlying cause, some types of kidney disease can be treated.
What is kidney cancer?
Kidney cancer forms in the membrane that lines the tiny tubes inside the kidneys. This cancer becomes more common as we age.
Risk factors include smoking, some genetic diseases and long-term misuse of painkillers.
How many types of cancer are there?
The word cancer is a very broad term that encompasses more than 200 cancers. Each one of them has particular characteristics, which in some cases are completely different from the rest of the cancers, and can be considered independent diseases, with their own causes, evolution and specific treatment.
